EFFECTS OF LIGHT AND SALINITY ON THE GERMINATION OF CLOSELY RELATED THREE SALSOLA TAXA

Three closely related Salsola taxa (Salsola boissieri Botsch. subsp. serpentinicola (Freitag & Özhatay) Freitag Uotila, boissieri, turcica Yıldırımlı (halophytic ecotype), (gypsicole ecotype)) from different edaphic conditions were studied according to changing light and salinity conditions. Seeds of target collected in 2017 their weights determined. The perianth segments removed before the experimental trials all conducted at 9°C/22°C which is mean night day temperatures germination season. For determination influence light, one set seeds for distilled water trial kept complete darkness. Different NaCl concentrations (distilled water, 100, 200, 300 mM NaCl) used evaluate effects on germination. Viability determined by Triphenyl Tetrazolium Chloride (TTC) test was applied that did not germinate during trials. As a result, it found out stimulates showed better ratio light. most tolerant against are halophytic gypsicole ecotypes S. turcica, susceptible serpentinicola. Both species show reduced ratios with increasing salinity. Salinity tolerance very low, Decreasing Germination Percentage (DGP) values. Although they response salinity, there any statistically meaningful difference between these three percentages salinities, rates, last seed viabilities (F=1.818 p>0.05) (One Way ANOVA, SPSS 25).
